What Is The Fastest Lamborghini Ever Made?

What Is The Fastest Lamborghini Ever Made? The answer depends on the measurement being used because some were faster 0 to 60 while others had the fastest top speed.

Lamborghinis are, of course, the famous Italian cars created originally by Ferruccio Lamborghini to compete with Ferrari. Ferruccio had been a very successful industrialist. Wealthy, he had purchased a few Ferraris, but found the clutches to be lacking. An argument with no less than Enzo Ferrari ensued and Ferruccio decided to build a car better than the Ferrari. Thus did one of the longest rivalries in the auto world start.

So, what is the fastest Lamborghini ever made? Well, let’s start with the sexiest of the measurements – top speed. The Lamborghini Diablo GT is generally considered to be the car of choice. This rear wheel drive V12 monster was first exhibited in 1999 at auto shows and 80 were eventually produced. The top speed? An absolutely astounding 214.37 miles per hour. The car was so fast that Lamborghini didn’t even try to import it to the United States or Japan.

Ah, but what about pure acceleration. In this case, how about the fastest Lamborghini from zero to 100 kph, which equates to just over 60 miles per hour. The winner is not the Diablo. Instead, it is the Murciélago LP640. It does the distance in a lightening quick 3.4 seconds. The Diablo GT? A very pedestrian 3.9 seconds. Heck, my minivan does that time…wait, that would be 9.3 seconds!

So, what is the fastest Lamborghini every made? As you can see, the answer comes down to how you prefer to measure speed. Any way you cut it, all Lamborghini’s are blindingly fast and will suck your cheeks back should you ever be fortunate enough to drive one.
