GM Extends Money Back Guarantee Program

The GM money back guarantee program has definitely helped with sales. In good news, General Motors has extended the program so buyers can take advantage of the program.

The GM money back guarantee program was a marketing strategy designed to bring buyers back to the company after it popped out of bankruptcy. The basic idea is you can buy a GM and, if not happy, return it for a full refund. The program is a bit odd in that you must drive it for 30 days before you can return it. At that point, you then have from the 31st through 60th day to return the car.

The program has been a huge hit. Sales are up, but very few people have returned vehicles to the dealers. Given this, GM has decided to extend the program. It was originally set to expire November 4, 2009, but will now be in place until January 4, 2010. If you are considering a new car, GM might be worth a look.
